Installing the SegStand™

Standard Installation

1. Remove the round, plastic logo at the bottom of the LeanSteer column by pulling it out with your fingers.

2. Insert the SegStand into the hole and align the 2 threaded holes in the bottom of the SegStand with the pre-drilled holes in the column.

3. Insert the two stainless bolts through the column base and thread them into the SegStand. Tighten just snugly with the allen wrench.

4. Use the adjustable extension on the stand to raise or lower the up-right position of the Segway, or remove it completely and attach the smaller rubber boot to the bottom of the stand.

NOTE: For newer LeanSteer Segways which DO NOT come with pre-drilled holes in the base of the LeanSteer, you will need to drill a hole in the bottom of the LeanSteer column. Use the additional instructions below and hole template included with the SegStand to properly locate and drill the necessary hole then proceed with step #2 above.

Using The Drill Hole Template

1. Turn off the Segway.

2. Lay the Segway down on its back with the front facing up

3. Peel off the template

4. Center the template on the lean steer and align the top edge of the template with the front edge of the lean steer.

   

5. Using a drill, starter punch, mark each of the “x”’s on the template

6. Remove the template

7. Using an 11/64 inch drill, drill ONLY ONE of the marked spots.

8. Insert the SegStand and secure with one allen head screw.

NOTE: If the SegStand does not fit properly, due to the new hole not being exact, adjust the second “X” mark as necessary to correct for the first error and drill a second hole. The SegStand only needs one allen screw to secure it to the lean steer
